About Me
Hey, thanks for checking out my website! My name is Jason Jones and I have been in Arizona for over 24 years, collectively. I am a born-native of Texas and I have moved around quite a bit. Traveling is in my nature as I love to discover new places and the history associated with them. Throughout my post-high school years, I joined the United States Air Force in 1996. I was sent to Ramstein, Germany for two years for my first duty station. At the ripe young age of 19, I was in a different country working as a firefighter/paramedic. I saw and experienced so much while abroad. While in Europe, I lived in Spain & Bosnia for four months, each. Throughout my six years in the military, I have collected plenty of stories to share with my students.
Upon returning back to Phoenix in 2000, I worked for almost 10-years as a high-wealth banker. That experience taught me a number of things but it eventually led me to my passion in teaching. I have been a teacher for almost 4 years now, and I am very excited to build a long-lasting career for years to come. I attended Arizona State University (Go DEVILS!!!) for my undergrad in Human Communications. I completed my Master's degree in Secondary Education at Ottawa University in Phoenix., and I completed my Education Specialist degree at Nortcentral University. I am enrolled at Northcentral University to graduate with my doctorate in Educational Leadership in March 2019.
Recently, I left the Scottsdale community, where I taught at Horizon HS for four years. I transferred from O'Connor HS, where I learned how to begin my craft in teaching and hope to continue sharing my experience and stories with my new "family" in Central Phoenix.
In 2012, a couple previous students and myself started the first shooting sports club at a public high school in Arizona. Named, "Freedom Fire Shooting Sports", an average of 30-collective student athletes demonstrate great skill and responsibly of safety in shooting sports competition. I coached boys varsity golf from 2014-2018 and during that time sent multiple athletes to the State Championship.
I am also an adjunct instructor at Rio Salado College, Estrella Mountain Community College, and Ottawa University. I enjoy restoring older cars (muscle cars), shooting sports, traveling, and attending the Arts. I consider myself an amateur foodie! Burgers & sushi are my specialty!
This year, I look forward to new experiences, in both teaching and coaching, at Arcadia High School. This is my 8th year to continue my education tenure and I am very optimistic about this new adventure.
